95% of Workplaces Will Include a Wellness Strategy For Employees

Salutation Nation - 150 Australians spend majority of their time working, which is one of the leading causes of stress. The health of employees in Australia is now one of the latest concerns according to the recent 2013 Global Workplace Health & Wellness Report. Australian companies and small workforces are putting new wellness strategies into place in order to motivate and encourage employees for better performance at work. It is believed that the health of employees boosts not only the wellbeing of employees but creates greater morale, teamwork and overall performance and thus creating a better business.

In the recent article entitled Employee Wellness High on Workplace Agenda, the 2013 Global Workplace Health & Wellness Report states that although 95% of Australian companies who completed the survey are planning to incorporate a wellness strategy, workplace health initiatives are slowly being introduced with only 22% of workforces implementing a complete strategy.

The types of wellness strategies being implemented include a number of health benefits such as gym memberships, additional leave and teamwork sessions that aim to create long term behavior change.
