Charlotte O’Brien is not your average four year old girl. She has endured what many Australians will never experience in their lifetime. Charlotte has acute myeloid leukaemia. Acute myeloid leukaemia is a form of cancer that can be life threatening. She has been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia at the young age of nine months old. Before her first birthday and until now, she received 12 red blood cell transfusions and 14 platelet transfusions.
Without the help of many Australians donating blood each year, Charlotte would not have survived this far.
“Our family with forever be grateful to all the blood donors who helped Charlotte survive cancer before she was even able to walk.”- Mrs. O’Brien
This little fighter continues to warm the hearts of Australia as she fights to keep herself alive. She is strong, determined and full of spirit. Charlotte at the age of four, already has big dreams and either wants to be a doctor or a ballet teacher when she grows up.
