According to a recent article, Australian stroke victims are currently estimated at 420,000 in 2012. This means approximately 1000 new stroke patients every week in Australia are emitted into an Australian hospital. Understanding the new research, greater awareness is needed for Australians under 65 years, where almost 130,000 Australians under 65 had a stroke.

It is estimated from the current research and figures that the number of Australian stroke victims will grow to 700,000 by 2032.
