According to the latest findings on Probono Australia, Australians are donating more to health related causes than ever before. The overall amount of donations by fellow Australians grew from February 2013 by 2.6 percent.
The National Australia Bank’s Charitable Giving Index outlines each states contribution towards charity and the amount donated towards health related causes. We found that there was an increase in the Health and Disability sector (up 10.5%), Medical Research & Services (up 7.9%) and Cancer (up 5.7%).
Although these figures outline the donations to charities and not to Australians who require donations for medical purposes, we believe that this information is still relevant to fundraisers. This report shows that Australians are more incline to donate to health related causes and therefore are more interested in helping Australian families who are in need of donations for medical related reasons.
